Lack of concentration- Recognize, understand and combat a lack of focus
Regardless of age and lifestyle, whether in everyday life or at work, everyone knows the problem of simply not being able to focus on one thing. You completely lack focus, or you keep getting thrown off balance at every slightest distraction. This can be very stressful, especially if you don’t know what the cause is and how to combat a lack of concentration.
However, a lack of focus can also become very massive and stressful as a result of minor problems. It occurs when we are unable to concentrate on an essential task for a long period of time. It can occur in both children and adults and becomes a problem especially in areas where performance is required, such as school or work. But how does a lack of concentration develop, what are the possible causes?
A lack of concentration can be a symptom of a physical, but also of a mental illness. If it is only a temporary or intermittent lack of concentration, a nutrient deficiency may be the problem. If the body lacks important nutrients such as iron, magnesium or zinc, the brain can no longer focus well on one thing. Stress, overwork, psychological burden due to a sudden life event or sleep disorders can also be causes. However, serious illnesses such as depression, burnout, cardiovascular diseases or a stroke can also cause a lack of concentration.
Since a lack of focus is usually a symptom, it is necessary to find out which disease or deficiency is the cause in order to be able to combat this lack. First, however, one can try to treat a lack of focus with a balanced diet, sufficient exercise in fresh air, exercises for concentration as well as breathing exercises and the renunciation of excessive media consumption. If this does not help, you should urgently consult a doctor.
